CODE OF CONDUCT

The Code of Conduct details the policy of MES BAVA SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL, Thalassery about appropriate student behaviour, as well as procedures for disciplinary action. The Code is designed to act as the refining fire helping the students to emerge as confident, promising, and polished individuals.

UNIFORM/DRESS CODE
Students must come to school in a neat and clean uniform. Scribbling on the uniform or improper wearing is strictly prohibited.  Boys should get their hair cut at regular intervals. It cannot touch the collar or cover the forehead. Girls must plait or braid their hair neatly.  Special uniform must be followed on all Wednesdays Black shoes on regular days and white shoes on Wednesdays must be as defined in the uniform. All students should have clipped nails. Students are not permitted to wear expensive jewellery and other accessories. In case of any loss, the school will not take responsibility. Colouring / Dyeing hair and tattoos of any kind are not permitted.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
Students are expected to adhere strictly to the scheduled school hours. They won’t be allowed inside after the commencement the school hours. Latecomers will not be allowed to attend regular classes. Students must report to class on time after a break or during activity periods. Student’s departure must be from the designated gates only. It is mandatory to take the exit slip signed by the principal from the school reception. Students must board the school bus within 5 minutes of dispersal.

CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS
Classroom must be kept clean by students. They should greet when any teacher or visitor enters the classroom No shouting or whistling is allowed in or around the school building. Running in corridors is strictly prohibited. Pupils of one class/section are not permitted to be in another class class/section even during intervals. Classroom discipline should be maintained. Throwing things outside the window or washing hands through the window physically hurting anyone inside or outside the classroom is strictly forbidden.

BEHAVIOUR CODE
Use of abusive language/passing filthy or vulgar comments against any student, teacher, visitor or guest of school will invite stern action immediately. The school reserves the right to terminate any student whose progress in studies is unsatisfactory or whose conduct is a bad example for other children. Students must converse in English ONLY during school hours. Pupils must avoid loud talk and chorus answers in and out of classes. Silence should be maintained in corridors, libraries, and in laboratories. Care must be taken of the school property and no one is allowed to scratch, spoil or damage any school furniture, write or draw anything on the walls, or in any way damage any article belonging to others. Any damage done to the school property will be made good by the concerned student together with fine money imposed for such an offence.

PUNCTUALITY, LEAVE OF ABSENCE and WITHDRAWAL
Students must have a minimum attendance of 80% during the academic year in order to take the school examinations. However, a prize for 100% attendance is awarded on the basis of the total attendance in an academic year.  In case of missing school, a leave application must be presented to the school duly signed by the parents/guardian. In case of absenteeism due to illness, students must present a medical certificate to the school. Long leave may only be taken with the prior permission of the Principal and application in triplets must be sent to school for the same. No Student is permitted to leave school during school hours without a valid permission slip from the Principal. Students will not bunk classes while in school. Strict action will be taken against defiance of this rule. Transfer Certificate will not be issued until and unless all the dues of the school are settled.

EXAMINATION CODE
They should never cheat, be unfair, steal from others, or borrow others’ belonging during the Examination. If caught doing so, the Examination will be cancelled. In case of absence from the examination, NO RETEST WILL BE HELD. Retest for the Final examination will not be conducted under any circumstances.

SCHOOL DOCUMENTS
The school diary and identity card must be maintained well and brought every day. Notebooks must be maintained properly and kept neatly. Time-table must be austerely followed.

MOBILE OR DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY
Usage of mobile phones on campus is strictly prohibited.in case of an emergency, they could ask the class teacher. Strict action will be taken if it comes to the notice of the school authorities that any student is involved in the possession of any valuable electronic devices or the circulation of inappropriate digital content on mobile devices.

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION POLICY
No child must bring any gifts for distribution either to the teachers or to their peers. Distribution of pens as gifts to teachers is also strictly prohibited. Toffees or Chocolates (if sent for distribution) must cost under Rs.10 only. No juice/chips/other goodies will be distributed. We will send the packet back if the parents do not adhere to the birthday policy. Casual but decent birthday dresses can be worn by children of Montessori to III ONLY. Students of Classes IV- XII must come to school on their UNIFORM ONLY on their birthday.

School bus norms
Bus fees should be paid before the 10th of each month. Parents are requested to inform the school office with a written letter if they wish to discontinue the bus facility (a one-month fee will be charged). Be ready in the morning at the scheduled time and place for the school bus to arrive Students shall not: Play on the road or street while waiting for the bus. Put their head or hands out of the windows. Mar or deface the school bus. Smoke or use intoxicants while on the bus. Fight on the school bus. Strike or threaten bus driver or bus attendant or use profane language. Throw objects inside or out of the bus. No student is allowed to enter/come to school on a motorcycle or scooter. Students coming to school by bicycle should refrain from double or triple riding. Students must not ride bicycles in the school compound. Students who come to school under the care of guardians/servants/rikshaw should never leave the school before they arrive to take them back. In case of delay, they should report to the school office. Those who commute alone must never roam around on the way but return home straight without delay.

PROHIBITIONS
Students are not allowed to upload any school photograph on social media. Bringing fireworks/bursting or extending any kind of support for exploding crackers or splashing water or colour in the school premises or outside in the vicinity of the school is strictly prohibited, even during festival time. Any kind of malpractice during exams is strictly prohibited. Use of abusive language or passing filthy/vulgar comments will invite immediate stern action.  STUDENTS ARE PROHIBITED TO BRING Any objectionable literature Any harmful material Any chewing gums.

ANTI-BULLYING POLICY
The school will show zero tolerance for any of the following acts of bullying done by its students- Fighting. Verbal abuse. spreading rumours and manipulating social relationships.

MONETARY TRANSACTIONS
Students are not allowed to bring excess amounts of rupees other than canteen or stationary needs without prior permission from the school. No collections for any purpose what soever are to be made without the permission of the principal.
